Kids
Children of all ages are welcome at St Clement's. We understand that bringing young children to church can be challenging, and we try to support patient and carers by providing facilities for our younger members so that we can all happily worship together.
St Clement’s Kids’ Club
Any child of 3 years and above is welcome to join in St Clement’s Kids’ Club held every Sunday morning through the year. The children have their own story and activities based on the day’s readings and theme in the Kids’ Club Room, following the rhythm of the Church’s year. The leaders are DBS-checked and both they and those who assist are usually parents of young children attending the club. Children go to their activities during the hymn before the Gospel reading and return in time for a blessing at the communion rail. Often the kids show us what they’ve been up to at the end of the service.
Children’s Corner
Within the church, in the south west corner, there is a soft play area with books and quiet toys suitable for very young children. Parents are carers are very welcome to use this and the toys provided at any point in the service. The vestibule, beyond the first set of doors, is a very good “Time out” area if a child becomes restive (and they do!). There are always people to help, but we ask parents to supervise their own children at all times unless they’re at Kids’ Club.
Messy Church
On the last Saturday of the month we have Messy Church from 10.30 to 12.30
A chance for children under 12 and parents/carers TOGETHER to do some creative games and crafts.
Followed by a sandwich lunch.
